Each environment is different and presents its own challenges. If possible I like to mix things up. Printing sizes and processes don't have to be so segregated by wall or room. I've hung many pictures in found vintage frames and for those images the effect was successful (though it gets harder to find good frames....). I've also shown video displays or projections alongside still photographs. To me it could be better for the viewer to leave a little bit feeling like they've just gotten off a carnival ride. Shake up their eyeballs. But each show is different. Looking back I can see now I've sometimes been unable to resist hanging too many pictures. We may want to hang them all but we could also leave room for the viewers' imagination.
